FAQ

Questions, answered straight

The things people ask us most — about pricing, licensing, emergencies and the work itself. Don't see yours? Call (416) 450-4030 and just ask.

Do you charge for estimates?

No. Estimates are free. We look at the work, explain your options in plain language, and give you a written, itemized price before anything starts — so there are no surprises.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Kiyan Electric is an ESA-certified, licensed electrical contractor and we carry liability insurance. The electrician who shows up at your door works to Ontario's electrical safety code, and we handle the ESA permit and inspection when your job needs one.

Do you offer emergency service?

Yes. We offer 24/7 emergency electrical service across the Greater Toronto Area. If you have no power, a burning smell, sparking, or a panel that's failed, call (416) 450-4030 and we'll walk you through making it safe.

Which areas do you serve?

We're based in Richmond Hill and work throughout the Greater Toronto Area — Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Markham, Vaughan, Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Pickering, Woodbridge, Aurora and Newmarket.

How do I know if my electrical panel needs upgrading?

Common signs are a fuse box instead of breakers, breakers that trip often, a 60A or 100A service, flickering lights when appliances run, or not enough capacity for a heat pump, hot tub or EV charger. We'll assess your panel and tell you honestly whether an upgrade is worth it.

Can my panel handle an EV charger?

Sometimes yes, sometimes it needs help. Before we install a charger we check your panel's capacity. If there's room, we install and you're set. If not, we can add load management or recommend a panel upgrade — and we'll tell you which one you actually need.

What happens after I request an estimate?

You'll hear back from us to set a time that works. We come out, look at the job, and give you a written, itemized quote. There's no obligation and no pressure — you decide when you're ready.

Still wondering about something?

Ask us directly — no obligation, no pressure. We'll give you a straight answer.
